Terengganu is accessible by Air, Road and Sea.
By Air
Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia offer daily flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Terengganu. The flight takes approximately 45 minutes.
By Road
The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu covers a distance of 455 km. via the East Coast Expressway. Take the exit at Kuantan, drive along the coastal road to Kemaman, Dungun or Kuala Terengganu. The journey takes approximately 4 hours.
Air-conditioned taxis are available at Puduraya Terminal in Kuala Lumpur, whereas in Kuala Terengganu, taxis can be found at the Kuala Terengganu Tanjung Bus Terminal.
Express coaches depart daily from Kuala Lumpur for Kuala Terengganu. Be prepared to spend at least 7 hours on the road. Both regular and VIP air-conditioned coaches are available.
Tickets for coaches can be purchased at Puduraya Terminal or Putra Bus Terminal in Kuala Lumpur, whereas in Kuala Terengganu, tickets can be purchased at the Kuala Terengganu Tanjung Bus Terminal.
By Rail
There is no direct train service to Terengganu. Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) or Malayan Railway provides comfortable and economical rail services from Kuala Lumpur to stops in neighboring Kelantan state. Disembark at the Tanah Merah station in Kelantan and take a 45 minute drive to the Kuala Besut Jetty or a 90 minute drive to Merang Jetty.
Getting to the Islands
Terengganu's islands are accessible by boat from several jetty points on the mainland.

Getting to Kenyir Lake
You can take a taxi from Kuala Terengganu to the lake from Kuala Terengganu Tanjung Bus Terminal, which is 55 km away. Alternatively, there are buses to Kenyir Lake departing from Kuala Lumpur.
