Sepang is a town and district located in the southern part of the state of Selangor. Sepang district is perhaps best known for hosting the Sepang International Circuit and as the site of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which serves Kuala Lumpur.

The Sepang F1 International Circuit is the home of the Malaysian Grand Prix which is the Malaysian leg of the Formula One race.

Sepang is also famous for the township of Cyberjaya, which is also known as the Silicon Valley of Malaysia. Currently, over 250 multinational companies are located in Cyberjaya.

Sepang International Circuit

The Sepang International Circuit, introducing itself as the home of Malaysia's motorsports, is by far one of the best and has the largest facilities of its kind in the world. Built on a 260 hectare plot, the purpose built facilities are simply astounding, from the 5.54 km. track to the supporting arenas for go-karts, four-wheel drives, motocross and rally cars. The circuit is the only race track in the world that provides double frontage grandstand area where 30,000 spectators will be able to watch the race there. A further 100,000 spectators will be able to experience the excitement from the natural stands. Sepang International Circuit is the host for the FIA Malaysia Formula One Championship, the FIM Malaysia World Motorcycle Grand Prix and various international and national competitions throughout the year.

Motor Racing

Enormous interest is generated every year with Selangor hosting several world and international class motor-racing championships. Man and machine are tested to the limit as these events scream into action. The racing track in Sepang organises the famous World Formula One series and FIM Malaysia World Motorcycle Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the Shah Alam Racing Circuit is famous for its "Saturday Nite" racing events.
