Samarahan Division situated in Southern Region of Sarawak, East Malaysia, on the island of Borneo encompasses of four (4) districts namely, Samarahan itself, Asajaya, Serian and Simunjan. It has an approximate total land area of 4,967.4 square kilometers.

Kota Samarahan is a town and the capital of the Samarahan District with an approximate land area of 407.1 square kilometers is known as the City of Knowledge. It has a concentration of universities and educational facilities and thus forms Sarawak's research and development centre.
Asajaya is a small town located within the Samarahan District. It has its own district office - Pejabat Daerah Asajaya, which means Asajaya District Office.
Serian is a town, and the capital of the Serian District with an approximate land area of 2,039.9 square kilometers is located about 65 km from Kuching. The town is very famous for its durians, which are popularly believed to be the best in Sarawak. This has prompted the Serian District Council to erect a giant monument to this "king of fruits" right in the middle of the market square.
Simunjan is a small town district located between Serian and Sri Aman. Most of its inhabitants are made up of the Malay and the Iban people.
