Bentong is both a town and a district in Pahang. The district covers an area of 1,831 sq. km. It is located northeast of Kuala Lumpur, just across the main range, Titiwangsa Mountains of Peninsular Malaysia.
In its district is Genting Highlands (2,000 m. above sea level), a mountain peak within the Titiwangsa Mountains of Peninsular Malaysia. It enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 30 degrees Celsius and rarely falling below 15 degrees Celsius yearly, it is considered as cold to all Malaysians.

Genting Highlands |
Genting Highlands is known as Malaysia's playground. It is home to several hotels, a theme park and Malaysia's only casino. Genting Highlands was developed by Lim Goh Tong, who envisioned a hillside getaway destination for people wanting to get away from city hustle and bustle, and is conveniently situated 45 minutes from the capital of Kuala Lumpur, accessible via Karak Highway. The border of Genting Highlands straddles both the states of Pahang and Selangor.
Getting there:
About 45 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur via the Karak Highway. Kuala Lumpur-Genting taxis are available from the Puduraya Bus Station in Kuala Lumpur. The Kuala Lumpur-Genting direct coach service is available from KL Sentral, Jalan Duta Coach Station, Puduraya and Gombak LRT Station. |
