Bordered by the districts of Jelebu, Kuala Pilah and Tampin and the states of Pahang and Johor, Jempol is the largest district in the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. The meeting point of Muar and Serting Rivers is in Jempol, which had played an important transportation role in ancient times. Known historically as Desa Penarikan, it was a short-cut from the west to the east coast of the Malay Peninsular.
Bahau is the principle town of Jempol district in Negeri Sembilan. Bahau roads are linked to Kuala Pilah, Tampin, Gemas and around the Pahang area of Kemayan. Bahau also have a sub-town which is called Mahsan. It is just about 5-10 minutes drive from Bahau.
